What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art which roughly translates to "the way of the foot and fist". In Taekwondo, we learn a wide variety of skills and philosophies. The Taekwondo curriculum consists of
Fundamentals (blocks, strikes, and kicks)
Forms (Poomsae)
Self Defense (Ho Shin Sul)
Olympic Style Sparring (Gyeorugi)
Board and Brick Breaking (Kyukpa)
In addition to these skills, Taekwondo develops focus, perseverance, self control, discipline, confidence, and respect for all. At Choi's Black Belt Academy, Taekwondo becomes a way of life as we learn to apply what we learn in the Dojang to our daily lives.
