Min d, Heart, Spirit
Our crest is the Chinese character for heart. It can also be read as mind or spirit. It is a recognizable character all over East Asia. For a martial arts education, this helps us distinguish ourselves from combat sports. Combat sports only focuses on the physical. Martial Arts helps develops the mental and physical. Martials Arts uses philosophy, ethics and compassion. Overall improving our minds, hearts, and spirits. This can also be applied to physical aspect of our sport such as when we pour our hearts into training, we can accomplish anything. If our hearts are focused on a goal, then we can only be improving. Heart over anything is our measure of results. All you need is heart to be what you want.

My name is Jacky Jakeo. I was born in Thailand and came to the United States when I was 3 years old. I began my martial arts education at a very young age. My inspiration came from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many martial arts movies. I have been studying martial arts for 30 years and have been teaching since I was 16 years old. I heavily competed during my high school and college years. I also coached the ASU Olympics Taekwondo Team. After graduating from ASU, I took my skills to Japan where I worked as a professional stuntman. I returned to the US a few years ago to settle down with my family and started my day job as a Elementary School PE teacher. I enjoy Taekwondo and I love teaching students. My reward comes from seeing their development which in turns inspires me to always do my best.
I have been working with our instructors to improve more on their great teaching skills. All of our instructors are certified black belts and have been with the academy since they were white belts. They work very well teaching enthusiastically to both children and adults. They are my top quality instructors and I would not trade them for any other.
